If a mid-range LTE phone on Verizon Wireless is on your to-buy list, then you’ve likely considered the new Droid Incredible 4G LTE. Its somewhat of a low-end One variant, but keeps that slick red and black color scheme of the Incredible line. While the display a resolution are clearly the weakest link in this device, everything else under the hood is sure to zoom along nicely:

HTC has just reported their Q2 2012 financial results, and man, they’re not pretty. Sales hit $3.05 billion, down from the $4.32 billion they did during the same quarter a year ago, but the more important number here is gross profit: $247.7 million. That’s down 57% compared to Q2 2011. Why the shitty numbers? According to Reuters, sales in Europe were “disappointing” and that whole customs issue in the United States also made a large dent.

Is there room in the smartphone space for another OS? Mozilla is banking on the answer being “Yes.” Its HTML5-based Firefox OS “will likely be a low-end alternative to Android,” said tech analyst Greg Sterling. “It’s unlikely to rival top-of-the-line Android devices or the iPhone. Developer and consumer acceptance are wild cards. But I could see it succeeding in selected developing markets.”

Apple this week lost a bid to have HTC devices banned in the U.S. while the International Trade Commission (ITC) considered Cupertino’s patent complaint.
The ITC agreed to hear Apple’s case, but declined to ban the import and U.S. sale of HTC devices while its investigation proceeds.
